Determining the Factors Affecting the Market Clearing Price by Using Multiple Linear Regression Method

The aim of this study is to determine the factors affecting market clearing price by multiple linear regression method. In order achieve goal, hourly data for 2019 were obtained from website Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST). Due analysis assumptions, only January and June included in analysis. results show that variables are statistically determined as amount natural gas production, hydroelectric energy, energy produced thermal power plants, wind (only January) at significance level 0.05. Methods with high specificity coefficient, low mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) deviation known methods adapt better. study, artificial neural network method was used along which prediction model fit Coefficient determination (R2), error, compare methods. it can be concluded a better predictive than due its R2 MAPE values.
